Meet the Kopps
Rich and Patti Kopp were recently appointed as missionary ambassadors with Open Bible Churches. In 2015 God inspired Rich to initiate a training program for church planters in Ghana, West Africa. The Church Planters Academy is an innovative concept for planting churches overseas designed for dedicated Open Bible church leaders willing to leave their homes and jobs and spend a month training to become church planters. In October of 2016 Rich launched the first session with fifteen hand-picked recruits who were then paired into teams of at least two. Upon graduation, six teams set out to minister and hold outreaches with the intention of planting six new churches. This group of graduates planted seven churches in nine months!
Rich and his wife, Patti, visited these church plants in July of 2017 and witnessed these church plants meeting an important need in their communities, especially those in more rural areas. Many of the families who live in rural areas are unable to attend church unless it is within walking distance as they have no other means of transportation.
In July of 2018 five more church plants were launched by the 2018 graduating class. In just two months’ time more than 35 people had accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. The Church Planters Academy in Ghana is now under the leadership of Rev. Kofi Gyansah, who is doing an amazing job as its new director. God began to stir Rich’s heart once again. He realized that there are many other countries in West Africa where Open Bible could successfully launch a Church Planters Academy.
Rich and Patti plan to launch a Church Planters Academy in Liberia, West Africa, in 2020. Through your prayer and support, they will be able to take the Church Planters Academy around the world, training leaders to disciple the nations through outreach and the planting of churches.
Please join Rich and Patti in prayer and support as they launch the Church Planters Academy in Liberia and beyond.
