Haiti is a country that has suffered chronic instability, dictatorships and natural disasters in recent decades which has left it as the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
An earthquake in 2010 killed more than 200,000 people and caused extensive damage to infrastructure and the economy. Haiti continues to face multiple ongoing crises, such as food insecurity and malnutrition.
An estimated 982,000 people are still facing severe food insecurity; 39,000 children under 5 years will be affected by acute malnutrition in 2019; and over 640,000 people will require access to primary health care, including maternal and child health services.
One of our newest works is now in Haiti and we are working with Brother Samuel Tavarez and his family from the First Spanish Church of the Open Bible in Hialeah, Florida have been ministering in Haiti for more than 50 years.
We want to help Good Samaritan Ministries who has 5 acres of land in the town called Williamson build a new orphanage and elementary school for grades 1st to 7th. The new orphanage would provide space for about 50 children and the elementary school would serve 300 children and provide refuge for them.
Also, they want to establish a medical clinic because hundreds of children and youth have no way to receive any type of medical care and treatment for common illnesses and injuries which require medication.
We are very excited that the Open Bible Churches of Jamaica will be partnering with Global Missions to build a church for the neighboring community which is very important.
Please join us and donate to Mission Haiti so we can save hundreds of children from malnutrition and share the Gospel of Christ to redeem them, theirs families and their communities.
