Appointed as Open Bible missionaries at large in 2011, Doug serves as Latin America Regional Directors assisting Global Missions Executive Director Vince McCarty in overseeing the fast growing work in Latin America along with other administrative duties. They are excited to be a part of the expansion of the Kingdom through encouraging and enabling the national organization to send missionaries, make disciples, and multiply churches. Doug and Karen’s vision is to see Open Bible established in each of the nations in Latin America, primarily by enabling each national organization to send missionaries to open new fields.

Doug and Karen are veteran missionaries who served for many years in Mexico (1985-2005). Doug was appointed by the Board of International Ministries to serve as Latin America Regional Director. He is responsible for coordinating the work of Open Bible in 16 Spanish-speaking nations, including Mexico, the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean and Central America, eight countries of South America, Spain, and also Brazil (Portuguese).

Their ministry involves strategic field planning for growth of our Open Bible churches and giving oversight to major projects and coaching and training for church planters, evangelists, and church leaders. Doug will assist International Ministries Executive Director with travel to these Spanish-speaking countries to provide necessary oversight for projects and assist each national board with maintaining requirements with their perspective government for non-profit organizations.

Doug and Karen are excited to oversee this fast-growing work (more than 1,000 churches) and to be a part of the continued expansion of the Kingdom through encouraging and enabling the national organizations to“Send Missionaries, Make Disciples and Multiply Churches.”
