Give to Chile Wildfire Relief Efforts

Today about 40 fires are still burning in Chile. Two days of national mourning began on Monday, February 5, in Viña del Mar, Chile, for at least 123 victims of the devastating forest fires. The search for the missing people continues and survivors search through the charred remains of their lives.

"All of Chile weeps for Valparaiso," said President Gabriel Boric on Sunday as the central coastal region recovered from the weekend inferno that has become the world's third-deadliest wildfire this century.

The fires have burned more than 39,000 acres. Volunteers went to the most affected areas to help families, rescue pets, deliver food, water and tents. Hundreds of people are still missing.

The fires broke out in the region on Friday, fueled by winds and amid a brutal heat wave that has sent temperatures to around 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). A couple of our Open Bible pastors in Valparaíso lost their home. We thank the Lord that they and their families are safe.
