Hurricane Irma is projected to make landfall on Wednesday as a Category 5 hurricane. This has residents and government officials throughout the Caribbean making preparations for a catastrophic storm that could wreak havoc on several nations, including the United States.
To date, Irma has become one of the strongest storms recorded in the Atlantic. Residents in the British Virgin Islands and elsewhere have cleared the shelves at grocery stores and other businesses.
Open Bible's partner, Convoy of Hope, has pre-positioned supplies in Haiti — where we serve tens of thousands of children — and we have teams prepped and ready to respond.
"We are praying with countless others that Irma will veer off course and dissipate in the ocean," says Hal Donaldson, president of Convoy of Hope. "If it doesn't, we are ready to respond and bring help and hope to those in need."
