MISSION VENTURE PLAN
What a joy it is to realize that Open Bible Churches helped bring fresh water, a school, and a mission base to the interior of Cambodia. This is the reason for Open Bible’s new Mission Venture Plan: to allow you to get behind a cause that grips your heart – more important, the causes that grip God’s heart as well! Jesus gave every believer a command. We call it the Great Commission: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19, NLT). This command clearly reveals God’s heart, but is short on specifics. How do we fulfill it? After much prayer, Open Bible Churches has been led by the Lord concerning how we are to do our part in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Open Bible’s missional focus is to:
• Make disciples
• Develop leaders
• Plant churches
• Send missionaries
For nearly 50 years Open Bible invited contributions for World Evangelism, our programmed giving vehicle for Great Commission ministry. Programmed giving meant you were asked to give to a program in which the destination for your contributions was predetermined. However, we have shifted to a contemporary approach to mission support using the Mission Venture Plan (MVP). MVP flips program giving upside down so you can choose to direct where your contributions go. If you still want to give to a programmed plan, don’t worry. That option is still available by giving to the MVP general fund, which is distributed at the discretion of the national office to MVP ministries. People today, however, tend to want more giving options, and Open Bible has an exciting constellation of MVP ministry ventures, ranging from discipleship, leadership development, and church planting in the U.S. to sending missionaries, making disciples, developing leaders, and planting churches around the globe.
