Clement Lye was a talented young Master’s Commission student with a heart for youth. Over time his interest turned to film production and acting. He and another student, Chris Marcus, launched a film project called The Making of a King – a short movie about the life of David. The entire Spokane Master’s Commission team invested a great deal of time and resources writing, building sets, designing costumes, filming, and editing. When the project was complete, the film debuted at First Church in Spokane. On opening night, quite unexpectedly, the church was packed – and that for an amateur movie. A dream had come true. Months of hard work culminated on a single night – a night that became a defining moment of calling and destiny. Clement would go on to work as an assistant movie producer in Los Angeles, serving as a missionary to an industry in desperate need of the Lord.
A one to two-year church based discipleship program for young people transitioning from high school to young adulthood, Master’s Commission allows students to follow their dreams in a variety of ways. The program involves living with a Christian host family while participating full-time in discipleship classes/activities, INSTE courses, service projects, and church and ministry outreach.
